Katherine “Tiki-Kate” Simmons was a big ol’ nut for tiki. She was a collector of knowledge, experiences, and memorabilia. She also collected an awful lot of hearts, which have broken since she left us on September 22, 2010.

This site has been created as a place to celebrate the positive impact she had while she was with us, and the wonderful things she has left behind for us.

This picture was taken by Kate’s dear friend Boris when they visited the Mai-Kai in Fort Lauderdale. She’s walking ahead, eager to explore the grounds, camera in hand. Her dress is a replica of a vintage Disney Enchanted Tiki Room dress. It is all so very, very Kate.

I like to think this is where she is now, just off exploring some forgotten corner of tiki, and when we round the corner ourselves we’ll see her again.
